Daniel William Wood

He was born on May 14th, 1969 in Boston, MA

On a family of 6 children: his little brother Brett; his sisters Bethany, Melissa, Pam and Rachel, and himlselve. They all lived on the family house in Dorchester with their parents: Daniel and Elizabeth (Betty).

Now he´s living in Miami where he moved with his falimily some years ago. Danny is the proud father of 4 kids: Anthony (Patty's son), Chance (adopted with ex-wife Patty from Russia; born in 1998), Daniel Jr. (born in 1992 with then girlfriend, Elise Stepherson), and Vega (born March 1999).

After New Kids On The Block´s split up Danny Wood worked producing other groups like Mr.Marvelous. Also he created his own producing company, Damage Productions, in 1997. The most successful group produced by Danny was LFO (Lyte Funkie Ones) thanks to a version of the most famous song of NKOTB: Step by Step. In the videoclip of this song four exmembers of NKOTB apeared: Danny Wood, Joe McIntyre, Jordan Knight and Donnie Wahlberg. Of course all NKOTB fans were exited with this song version. For personal reasons Danny moved to Florida after getting married in 1998.

There he kept on with his job as producer of musical groups, although he worked no more with LFO. Some time later (2000) he decided to make his own and very personal album: Room full of smoke. The songs were only music, he didn't sing. At the begining it was only available through Danny´s web site. Danny used for this record the artistic name of D-Fuse and it was dedicated to his mother memory who died in September of the previous year of breast cancer. A part of the benefits of the album were donated for the fight against breast cancer.

After this Danny wanted to record another album, also so personal, but this time he would sing. The date of its release was delayed.

Danny attented the NKOTB fan convention in August 2000. There he explained to the fans the reasons why he did this record. Without a doubt along all these years he has lived so many things and the desire of letting people know all these experiences was the reason for the album. The album talks about his mother, his wife, the custody of his son... We could listen some songs of the album on the convention as "Get away" or "Different worlds", but the album release had to wait a little more.

He also has been involved in some cinema projects. The most famous has been Deveria; a short film that was presented at Sundance Film Festival. Danny also filmed a movie called "Tequila Express". The film was placed in Mexico but they shut in Las Vegas. It is about a girl kidnapped by some pushers. She´s a government oficial´s daughter. David Sterr is the director.

After that he came back to music world with "Room full of smoke 2", that’s the second part of "Room full of smoke". This time the album had 33 tracks and there were some surprises like some of his children voices. You can buy it trough: www.cdbaby.com/dwood

During 2003 Danny finally traveled all around USA to promote the album he started in 2000 "Second Face". He also made tonz of radio interviews and live performances. The album was also released in Germany where Danny traveled to promote it in September. He even filmed a videoclip for this country of his first single "What if". A few songs from "Second Face" also were played in Spain on the most important music radio station "Los 40 Principales".

Danny was out of the bussiness for a while dedicated to his family. But he came back creating a site dedicated to his mother´s memory rememberbetty. He wanted to raise money to fight against breast cancer. That's the reason why he started running benefic marathons.

The surprise for his fans came in July, 2006 when MTV UK announced a new reallity tv show called Totally Boyband. 5 members of old Boybands would join to create a new group. Danny would take part in the project. After Lee Lachford Evans (Steps) was expulsed the new group was called Upper Street. The members were Bradley McIntosh (Sclub 7), Dane Bowers (Another Level), Jimmy Constable (911) and Danny Wood. The shooting of the program in London lasted several months during which the boys recorded an album. They did performances, interviews and promotion of their single "The One". The condition was that it had to achieveTop 10 of sales in England in order that the group could release the album. It did not happen this way. So when the tv program was over Danny came back to Miami.

After that Danny, in 2008, he recorded a new solo album "Coming Home" which was released in stores and Itunes. You can buy all Danny records here.

Danny got along the final touches on his solo album with recording the new New Kids on the Block album. And in 2008 he returned to the stage again and to the press around the world with the reunion of NKOTB. After a year and a half of promotion, worldwide tours, new album, new videos ... the guys took a break.

During this time Danny has keept on colaborating with "Susan G. Komen Foundation" for fight against breast cancer. In the months of NKOTB reunion Danny organizated charity events to raise money for the foundation and made a benefic t-shirt part of the merchandising of the NKOTB tour. On this break Danny recorded a solo album called "Stronger: Remember Betty" and its sales are equally aimed at the fight against breast cancer. Danny also participated, on September 25th in Boston, in the Susan G. Komen Massachusetts Race for the Cure! Where he also introduced some of his new songs. Nowadays after the second cruise with the guys and back on tour, he´s involved in a new project. Via Twitter Danny asked people to share their experiences of healthy life with him on this e-mail: dannywoodplan@gmail.com. Acording with his own words, he´s making a "Plan".
